{Spiritual 5}

Tucking Eli into bed last night, his last request of me before falling asleep was for me to pray over his mind so that he 'could keep the bad thoughts out'. Wow. A 6 year old asking for prayer to fill his mind with Christ. So amazing. We all need that right? Every day we have the choice of letting the 'bad' thoughts in or keeping them out, focusing the things of Christ, or the things of the world. It's a daily choice and filling our minds with the mind of Christ and renewing our minds is an ongoing process. Every day we need to take the time to meditate on the Word so that we can purposely think according to what it says.

You are probably thinking, "What does that mean?" One practical way we can do this is to just sit down and say, " I am going to meditate (think about) some things on purpose." Then spend some time thinking about some scriptures that renew your mind with the truth about what God says- about His love for you, His plan for you, how He wants you to live. If you commit to set your mind on God's word, renewing your mind with truth and getting the stinkin'thinkin out of your way, then we can experience the fullness of life that we can all have in Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:16 says' “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Romans 12:2 "Do not be conformed to the is world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." I don't know about you but my desire is to be transformed from the inside out by the renewal of my mind so that I can discern the will of God in my life. Pursue His thoughts for you...

Prayer : Today I fix my mind on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure,  whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, excellent, and whatever is worthy of praise.

{Journal 5}: I want to encourage you to write down some of these scriptures and put them in places where you will see them every day.
